World Fair Wednesday – Firestone Factory

Feb 13, 2013 ·

An oddly beautiful postcard featuring Firestone’s patented tire-making…process.  Shared from Paper Sponge:

Firestone Postcard

Firestone’s presence at the 1933 World Fair in Chicago was basically an entire factory, showing their tire-making process from beginning to end.  Here’s another card of the entrance:

Firestone Plaza

And a pamphlet touting their famous gum-dipped process:

Firestone Pamphlet

The layout and type are about exactly what you’d expect, but what surprises me about all three of these is the color! Each one is really vibrant and lush.  I don’t know what I expected – maybe faded and wrinkled?

Also, are those fountains spewing lava? No….

No, right?
