Here’s some home video footage of a trip to Japan in 1970. The beginning starts out with a little sightseeing but they arrive at the ’70 Expo in Osaka around 2:00 in. It’s great to see the festival live and in color, and the grainy film gives it an added touch. I love the monorail trip and the quick takes of the things they passed. Also the Soviet Union pagoda, unintentionally filmed to look like a shining centerpiece.
So many people attended! I also like the perspective you get on the “floating city”, with all the people gathered around it. Huge, and industrial! The 80’s future beckons!
